Thank You For The Music!

So, in the world of Emma Reynolds today I am not happy to announce that on my way home from being at my best friend’s house, I was assaulted by a drunk. Always a bonus. I was essentially walking along, minding my own business, when said drunk was seen having an argument in the street ahead. Nosey old me pulls out their headphones and begins to listen when the drunk swings for his friend and hits me instead. Yay. Thankfully, a lovely guy from the pub defended me but I got out of there as soon as possible. I wish I had punched him back now but then again, he could have done a lot worse to me in his state if I had tried. Sadly, the guy who defended me was then told to “shut up you fat c***!” which is not acceptable at all, but I did not feel in a position to fight back!

Here’s a hint ladies, let us not be with pricks that are drunks as they do not care if you end up with a black eye or worse okay? It’s not good for you nor is it very attractive on their part.

Now, before I was so very nosey with my surroundings today I was listening to my headphones as I was walking through the streets and jamming out to those songs that I adore. I can’t explain to you how music can change your life, how a single lyric can define an emotion you’re feeling to an exact pin point, but it can! Today I want to share with you all how music can fit into SI & BP Week to help you become more self confident.

I often talk here on the blog about how you should follow your dreams and never give up on them, and music is what spurred me on most of the time to do what I want to do. The reason for this is because music can be empowering, a beat can make you feel ready for battle and therefore prepared for the world ahead of you. Below I have shared the songs that have kept me positive and allowed me to have faith in my dreams and my ability to realise and fulfil them:

Of course there are many more which inspire me but those are all songs which have made me feel sexy when the world told me I was fat, strong when it told me I was weak, and happy when I should have been sad. Music is truly the best way to empower yourself and remind yourself what you are worth even in the darkest times. Hereby, what I want to tell you all today is to compile your own playlists of strength and power and realise once more how timeless and perfect you are! Even if you have just been assaulted by some drunk in the street… Haha.

As mentioned the other day, today will be day 2 of the Mary Lambert Body Love Campaign. Today it is all about loving your arms! I love my arms because they have good definition around the elbow and are strong in comparison to many others. Without them I could not cuddle or hold those I love, so thank God for arms!
