Happy Lone-Valentine’s Day

Hey gang, as always I need to apologise for my lack of posts lately and keeping up to date with you all! How are you? Feeling goooood? Good.

So, it’s Valentine’s Day! I hope all of you are spending it with those who love you and that you have received some lovely gifts! However, for some of us I know Valentine’s Day isn’t the best, especially if we secretly are hoping someone will send us something as a surprise!

I want this post today to demonstrate ways that we can all be happy on Valentine’s Day, even if we are feeling a little down in the dumps! Now, call me sad but one of the first things I did today which made me much happier was to go and buy myself some roses, unfortunately my student wage didn’t allow for much to look at, but I got a love rose in a vase from Aldi…

Laugh at me as you will, but it made me feel happy and I felt loved for at least a moment.

You know, love doesn’t have to come from somebody else for you to realise that you are special. I look in the mirror on a day like Valentine’s Day and think to myself I am beautiful, my body is thick yet individual, I am funny when I try to be, and I am cute. I have all the potential in the world to be the perfect partner and there is no reason why I shouldn’t start with myself.

Oscar Wilde once said that when you fall in love with yourself, it is a relationship that will last a lifetime. More of us need to understand that we cannot rely on relationships with other people to define who we are, however, at the same time, we also cannot fear love just because of something that happened in our past. Lord knows I’m terrified of getting my first boyfriend, but I would rather try and be happy that the good times happened, than never try at all and end up regretting that decision in the long run.

Also, do not be afraid to treat yourself on Valentine’s Day. I bought myself some silk pyjamas and a satin bedrobe, bring yourself a little happiness on Valentine’s Day, you deserve it!

I want to wish all you happy couples and happy singletons an amazing Valentine’s and I want you all to remain positive no matter what.

All my love,

Emma xxxx
