Bournemouth University Activities Awards 2018

Hey milklets!

I thought I would give you a little update on what I got up to the other evening and what the Activities Awards is!

At Bournemouth University, like most universities the Students’ Union is host to many different clubs and societies. The Activities Awards is an awards ceremony used to celebrate the achievements of each of these societies and clubs and to recognise the individual work of some students.

I was very proud to have been nominated for three awards including the Charity Volunteer of the Year Award, Individual Commitment Award, and Individual Fundraiser of the Year Award. Some of these are not the correct names of the awards but they’re pretty much right give or take! Unfortunately, I did not win any of these but those who did definitely deserved it and they gave wonderful speeches.

The event was held at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth, Boscombe and it was decorated in such a lovely way. I was of course sat with my Raggies (my nickname for the RAG group) and we had some bottles of wine at the table which was a great treat! I loved taking pictures at the photo booth, even though I must admit I’m finding it very hard to be positive about how my arms look in some of the images! I know I do try to promote body positivity on this blog however, and will try and be thankful for all the other great things about myself I love like my hair!

The tables were laid out very fancy and they included glittery table numbers so we all knew where to sit, and some images of our club/society!

I was very happy to be featured right in the middle!

For anyone who wishes to see my full outfit I’ve posted it below. My dress was from Quiz and my shoes were from Select, on sale many years ago.

We had a selection of bread and oils and then a main meal, I had a steak parcel filled with blue cheese and asparagus and this was followed by a dessert of a white chocolate cheesecake with caramel sauce. Admittedly, I was starving by the time we got it since we had waited a while!

The evening was great fun and I would definitely go again next year! Hopefully I’ll finally win then!

What clubs and societies are you all from?

With love,

Emma xxxx
