I always like to stay body positive and be sure to make all of my readers understand that it doesn’t matter if you’re a size 6 or a size 22 it’s about who you are, how you present yourself and what you believe in that defines you truly.
I started on Slimming World because I have planned to embark on two hugely tough treks this, and next year, and also for reasons such as health and because I like to buy different clothes and it’s hard to find the styles I want.
I decided to join Slimming World because I know a lot of people who have gone onto it have lost a lot of weight, amazing amounts actually! I read about one guy who lost 22st and 12 lbs! That’s insane. That’s like losing the weight of two people off of your back!
I joined 4 weeks ago nearly now and when I feel more confident, I will share with you all what my start weight was but I managed to lose 2 stone in my first two weeks and then put on 2 on a bit of a wild weekend! I then lost that 2 stone again by sticking with the plan (a couple of hiccups here and there!) and another half! I could technically therefore say I have lost 4 and a half pounds on slimming world already, but in reality I have lost 2 and a half off of my starting weight.
I have discovered a lot about myself since being on the Slimming World diet. This includes how much of an alcoholic weakness I have, I love a good drink! I also love cheese and it’s hard to fit in a cheeky chocolate bar even within my syns limit (syns are like “bad” things you are allowed each day. Each food item has a certain amount of syns in it and you are allowed 15 a day on the diet!)!
I am determined to stick to the diet for the rest of the year and beyond in the hope that even the smallest change in my diet is a step in the right direction! A good friend of mine once said to me, every healthy choice is a step closer to reaching your goal, even if you have a down day.
This is a really good thing about Slimming World, even when you get let down they don’t see this as a crazy big set back, just a minor one. If you pick up the diet again the next day, you will see results! I am on the online subscription to the programme and it works great for me because I simply don’t have time to go to group however much I’d love to. You can sign up to groups though, and here you get amazing support!
